Half way in the below video an example of how obvious ViziSpot® is on a dark and rainy morning on the highway between Odense and Svendborg (Denmark) is shown.

Often, visibility and retro reflection is problematic for normal road markings, when it rains. Normal lines are covered by a water film, which makes them harder to see, and thereby useless. The problem is mostly seen at dark and rainy night times, where the need for clear and visible markings is high.
LKF has developed a new type of structured road marking, ViziSpot®, which emphasises visibility, also at dark and rainy nights. The drop shaped structure makes it possible for the water to run away from the line, and thereby making the line visible. At the same time, the beads are able to do their job and give a high and visible retro reflexion.
In Belgium they have seen the advantages of the drop shaped road marking. In the December 2006 issue of the Road administrations newsletter, the first test results of ViziSpot® are characterised as “excellent” both during daylight but also at night time.

ViziSpot® has also been applied at the test filed Torfhaus in Germany in August 2006. The lines have been followed and been subject to measurrements over time. You can see how the ViziSpot® thermoplastic road markings has performed at test field Torfhaus over time. The ViziSpot® markings in Torhaus were applied as a combination of ViaTherm® thermoplastic and UCme® drop-on material. ViziSpot® application from Brescia, Italy |
